Robert Mocadlo, Ph.D.
Bob Mocadlo, PhD, CPA is an assistant professor in his third year at the University of North Dakota. Before completing his PhD at Emory University, Dr. Mocadlo received bachelor’s degrees in accounting and chemistry at the University of Notre Dame and worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in assurance services for three and a half years. His research interests focus on how auditors, accountants, and investors use financial information to make decisions. In particular, Dr. Mocadlo examines how accounting professionals’ decisions are shaped by the design of the tasks they complete, using insights from the fields of psychology, economics, and human factors research. His research has implications for how firms design decision aids and systems for their staff, which is especially important as accountants and auditors incorporate tools such as artificial intelligence and Big Data into their work.
