Joel Iiams, Ph.D.
Professor, Master of Science in Cyber Security
Professor Joel Iiams earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Colorado State University in 1993 under the direction of Robert A. Liebler. He specializes in Algebraic Combinatorics with special expertise in coding theory and the theory of combinatorial designs. He joined the Mathematics Department at the University of North Dakota in 1995. He served as Associate Chair of the department from 2000 to 2005 and Chair from 2011 to 2017. He was promoted to full professor in 2010. He developed and piloted MATH 425 Cryptological Mathematics in 2001.
